When my daughter started her senior year I mentioned we should start thinking about her present. I mentioned she might consider a trip. Since we live in Colorado, when I mentioned trip I was thinking to one of the states that touch Colorado. I know that doesn't sound very exciting, and I'm assuming my daughter thought the same thing. Which is why she came to me with a two week tour of Italy and Sicily.
This may seem like an extreme gift for a high school graduation, but I have always enjoyed traveling, right now we have the resources to take the trip and this is a once in a life time opportunity. After working through the trip details we told the family about it and my mother decided to invite herself along. I became hesitant that three generations of women in our family could travel together without a problem.
We all love each other, and do our best to help each other out, we just have two women with very strong personalities, one of them being a teenager, and a 70 year old woman who likes things her way and regularly believes the world revolves around her.
We leave in three days. There is already a fair amount of conflict that has transpired. I'll be telling the stories, good and bad, with my own spin, of how 15 days touring a foreign country works out for us.
